By now it has been 8 months since I wrote my last update. The focus was on the pregnancy and of course our 2 girls. But now I have been back at work for a few weeks and it's about time to start the crowdfunding again, starting with an update.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After the big disappointment of the Hart van Nederland broadcast, fortunately came the fantastic event 'the unlimited Elfstedentocht'. How hard Lex worked to cycle the entire distance of 213 km! And how well it went. On Facebook you were able to keep up with the whole trip, and we will also soon post a summary on the website. As you may have read, Lex was so fast that he got to the finish line before we did by car! How we laughed about it, typical Lex. After this, the final strains of pregnancy began. They were quite heavy because of the pelvic pain and therefore the little sleep. On October 19, 2022, Emma Hanna Bak was born in the hospital in Hoorn. It was a little tense whether we would make it to the hospital in time, as it suddenly went super fast at the end. After a short stay in the hospital, we were allowed to go home. How nice that was, but it also took some getting used to. Especially also for Sofie. But what a sweet and caring big sister Sofie is and Emma is a lovely sweet happy baby.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Since Emma's birth we have already had 2 scans and fortunately Lex's tumor is still stable. But it gets more nerve-wracking every scan. It has now been almost 2.5 years since a tumor was seen on the MRI scan. We are, of course, incredibly grateful. But the further we get, the more likely the tumor will grow. The current counter stands at \u20ac98,137, which is an awful lot of money! Only we are still a long way from \u20ac300,000. It's hard to combine family life, work and the crowdfunding. And that's not even all, I'm also busy keeping up with all the developments in DMG research, and I'm trying together with some others to bring more research to Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
What do we need? Fun, playful and impressive actions, big or small, that bring in even more donations! If you know something, get in touch. After all, we can't succeed on our own.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
