Time flies! It has been 13 months since Lex had his last radiation treatment (May 28, 2021) and luckily the tumor is still stable. We are so thankful to have this time as a family. But it is also a rollercoaster that never stops. After 2 fantastic benefit concerts, it finally worked: we came on TV! We were called in the morning by Hart van Nederland, in the afternoon there was a camera crew at our home and in the evening the broadcast was already on. Unfortunately, the urgency of our crowdfunding did not come through and only a handful of donations came in. We were hoping for a boost! Everybody in The Netherlands who would help us. Your courage sinks in your shoes. The crowdfunding and also the ongoing research into a possible treatment and all developments take a lot of time. In addition, you are in tension every 3 months. There is never real happiness with a \"good\" result. Though, relief there is. Fortunately, the tumor is still stable. Why not happy? That monster, that bomb, which could strike at any moment, is still there. A stable tumor is no guarantee for tomorrow. Unfortunately, we have also seen many fellow sufferers die, so sometimes the courage sinks into your shoes. Yet fear does not prevail. We can live now, and we choose that. We don't have a bucket list like many others. Ordinary life, enjoying our family, friends and relatives, good food and all the normal things, that brings us happiness. However, there was still one big wish, to expand our family with a second child. That decision did not happen overnight, and is it still possible? We took the plunge, chose life, and how blessed we are, because we expect a little brother or sister for Sofie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
All the more reason to fight for a future, but we need your help more than ever.
